In your opinion, what is the definition of a leader? How does Lillian Wald fit the definition?

A leader is someone who has an idea, finds a way to accomplish it and has the vision and flexibility to expand upon the idea. Lillian Wald saw a problem – lack of health care on the Lower East Side – and swiftly addressed it by moving into the neighborhood and providing health care to those who needed it, whether they could afford it or not.

How does your play represent Lillian Wald's legacy?

My play was meant to present the life of Lillian Wald, a virtual unknown American patriot, as a way to not only share her past legacy but to remind the audience that many of the things she helped create are still here today and some of them are in jeopardy.
